Our exhibition year started at the Surrey Heath Show 2013 at Frimley Lodge Park
and we rounded it off with an 11-week one at the Surrey Heath Museum (Oct to Dec).
52nd Annual Exhibition
High Cross Church, Knoll Road, Camberley
The 2013 Annual exhibition was a solid success. Thanks are due to all those who helped with organisation and running it.
It was formally opened by the Mayor of Surrey Heath Borough Council, Beverley Harding,
at the ticket-only evening reception on Thursday 18th July 2013
The exhibition was
open to the public from 9:30 to 5:00, Friday 19th and Saturday 20th July.
Over 200 works of art were exhibited and thirteen framed works sold.
The exhibition is always an excellent opportunity for people
to find out about the benefits of membership, to see what FCSA members do
and to enjoy viewing and, we hope, buying original works of art at reasonable prices.
|Competitions (other photos below)|
|Prizes are sponsored to encourage
particular types of work or in memory of past members.
Members are sometimes given the opportunity to compete by submitting paintings with a particular theme. For 2013 the optional competition theme was "Getting Out".
Both the The Winsland Award (provided by Elaine Winslands granddaughter, Leonie Mcguigan) and the themed competition
were judged by Alan Kluckow, owner of Sunningdale Art Gallery.
He commented on the difficulty of arriving at a decision owing to the very high level of artistic insight and technical skill demonstrated by the exhibited works.
